St.
David's School was established in 1955 by the Vestry of St.
David's Episcopal Church. The School offers classes for three-, four-
and five-year-olds as well as an Extended Care service for a limited
number of children who are enrolled in the School program. Young children
of all races and religions are welcome at St. David's School. Presently
St. David's Episcopal Day School serves 145 children through its various
programs.
. . . For more information, send e-mail to our Early Childhood Administrator,
Janet Leishman, or call her at (302) 475-3747.
SCHEDULE
. . St.
David's begins its school year in early September (usually the Thursday
after Labor Day) and continues through the Friday before Memorial Day
in May. The school program is closed for a week at Christmas and again
at Easter, as well as several published holidays and conferences. The
Extended Care program operates on all school closings except Christmas
Week.
Our Summer Program for children ages 3-7 takes place in June, July, and August. This is a great opportunity to transition to our school! The summer program offers flexible full and half day options in themed sessions.

PROGRAM
. . St.
David's Episcopal Day School curriculum meets the needs of each child
through developmentally appropriate practices, materials and methods.
The whole child is developed -- cognitive, social, physical, emotional
and spiritual. The skilled teachers and specialists work to provide an
enriching environment where the foundation for a love of learning and
respect for others can grow.
. . The class sizes are small, and there
are always two skilled professionals available to assist the children. All classroom staff meet or exceed Delaware licensing standards.
. . The children exercise and strengthen
their growing bodies in developmental movement classes. Field trips and
special visitors are part of the program. In the past, optional programs
included Spanish and ComputerTots.
. . Since St. David's is a Christian institution,
a weekly chapel service is part of the school experience. This is a joyous
time of worship through song, story and prayer, usually conducted by our Rector. Further emphasis is placed on Christian living by example and
the inclusion of holiday themes. Parents of the children are welcome to
participate in all aspects of the program. Non-Christian families are
invited to share their heritage with us as well.

Our preschool is located north of Wilmington, Delaware, just south of the Pennsylvania state line. The goal of our childcare and education efforts is to provide
a nurturing, Christian community where children can learn and grow. We
do this by:

each child into caring relationships with peers and adults,
Offering each child a stimulating
learning experience,
Valuing each child's unique
growth, and
Encouraging each child's
awareness of God in the world.
